My favorite snack

Grapefruit and avocado! They really are delicious together. My hubby looks at me in disgust, but I swear, it's so yummy, and satisfying!

Day six, semi Raw

I feel wonderful! So high-spirited and alive. I am not even 100% raw. I eat raw breakfast, lunch and snacks. It was difficult at first, but now I crave uncooked foods, and at dinner feel somewhat strange eating cooked, warm food. It almost feels too heavy, even though I am cooking light. I am very proud of myself. My husband is more so. He never really believed that I could do this.

Every morning my body just screams for a cool smoothie! Everyday they get more delicious, as I figure out new combinations. I am not hungry until lunch, but even at lunch, I am not famished. I have a huge plate of spinach salad with different veggie combos and dressings. YUM! If I need a snack before dinner, it is usually a fruit plate, or a bunch of yummy nuts.

I few days ago a made a HUGE pot of vegetable soup. I have been eating that for dinner for the past three days. It is so filling and so gorgeous and satisfying. My hubby has been eating it along with some meat. Ella loves it. I will have the rest tonight, and then start having a raw salad with something cooked like more healthy soup, or whole grain pasta, with olive oil, herbs, and yummy fresh tomatoes.

I am not sure if I will ever go 100%, but I feel great already and think this is something I can definitely stick with long term. I don't know if I have lost any weight, as I don't have a scale, but I can say my pants are baggy, and I can tell I have lost some cheek fat. My skin is shiny, I have not a bump on it. My hair and nails seem moisturized and strong. I go to the bathroom everyday around the same time, and I think that is just a sign of something sound and wholesome happening inside me. I am so thrilled. I do have to restock produce already, but that's just fine, as I can't imagine abandoning my raw foods now!

Not as inspired today

Uggh. Some days I feel really confident in exploring the raw food way of life. Today, I feel confused and flustered. I don't know where to shop. I don't have a lot of money to make separate trips to prepare different meals for myself and for my family. I wanted to go to my local health food store, and then the Farmers Market, but I just don't think I can afford it along with my regular grocery purchases. I need to write out a budget. I am sad and disappointed. I want to do this so bad, and keep racking up motivation, just to realize I may not be able to partake because of financial burden. I don't want to buy a week worth of healthy and raw foods, only to not be able to afford more the next week.

This is causing stress, and discontent. I need to figure something out. If only the family would go raw too.

Inspired

I am inspired by some friends who have and are enriching their lives by going RAW. I do not intend to go RAW 100 percent, but I am starting with breakfast, and snacks. My goal is to just live and eat clean. I want to be untainted, and pure. I want to feel wholesome and proud, but most importantly, comfortable. I want to love life more, and contaminate my children with this zest.

I will be heading to my local Farmers Market on Thursday and will be purchasing some "transitional" goods. I will start out with some light green smoothies, and I'll decide my goal and target from there.

Exercise is also a constant practice, but definitely needs some fine tuning. I will be purchasing a bike next month, so I am thrilled with anticipation. As a teenager and child, bike riding was my number one hobby. My dad dragged me up hills and mountains, but through the course of high school and beyond, I have lost touch with my familiar friend.
